The government has launched a consultation on making a number of the Permitted Development Rights (PDRs) introduced during the COVID-19 outbreak permanent.
The government is proposing to make planning reforms such as the right for moveable structures in the grounds of pubs, cafes, restaurants permanent. The consultation closes at 11:45pm on 14 November.
NB important exclusion: one of the rights that the government is not looking to extend is the temporary use of land for any purpose, which was doubled from 28 to 56 days. This right has allowed people to open up pop-up camping grounds for almost two months this summer but will end on 31 December 2021.
