The Scottish Government has now (from 14 August) made it mandatory for hospitality businesses to collect the contact details of customers and visitors.

Businesses operating in the hospitality sector are required by law to have regard to this. It applies until further notice for public houses, restaurants and cafes – including those where they are situated within other premises, such as caravan parks – and clubs. It is applicable to both indoor and outdoor spaces and failure to do this could result in enforcement action under public health legislation.
