Research reveals electric charging points in far reaches of UK

Jeep® has compiled a ‘Remote Charge Point Index’, listing some 20 remote electric charging points, including the top five most remote charge points in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

With over 42,000 electric vehicle charge points located across the UK, the research was carried out by Jeep® to show that, while the majority of charge points are currently located in larger towns and cities, the network is gradually expanding to more remote areas in Britain.

  • Lochinver Community Hall in a small fishing port on the west coast topped not only the Scottish list but was found to be the most remote of all chargers across the UK.
  • Charge points at Etal Village Hall, near Northumberland National Park, Plas Yn Rhiw, an early 17th-century manor house and DRD Car Park Belleek near Enniskillen top the list for their respective countries
