The consultation on the Northern Ireland Act closed on 8 March 2022 – NCC submitted a detailed response,and compiled a response on behalf of the Camping and Caravanning Forum in NI (CCFNI) in its capacity as Chair and Secretariat. 

NCC has been advised by the lead Department for Communities in Northern Ireland that the consultation paper attracted 716 responses, with the majority (536) relating to the holiday sector. 

The headline issues flagged by holiday caravan owners included length of tenure, upgrading, commission on sales and services. The department thanked the NCC for its contribution which brought a counterbalance for consideration.          

A detailed cross-department assessment of the responses is now underway and findings and recommendations to Ministers are not expected before early Autumn 2022.
